Start.me Update: Faster, Simpler, More Reliable
It’s been a while since our last update. Over the past months, we’ve focused on making Start.me faster and more reliable, while improving how you save and organize bookmarks. Here’s a quick overview of what’s new.

What’s new
- Faster dashboards
Pages now open faster, widgets load more smoothly, and switching between pages feels quicker. This is especially noticeable if you use larger dashboards. - Improved Stock Quotes widget
The Stock Quotes widget is now more reliable and easier to use. Prices update more consistently, and you can add the number of stocks you own to keep track of your portfolio. - Inbox widget updates
You can now add a dedicated Inbox widget to your pages. This makes it easier to view, manage, and organize your saved bookmarks directly on your dashboard. - Easier access to Inbox
We’ve also made the Inbox easier to find and use. It’s now more clearly integrated into search and the rest of the interface. Saving and reviewing links now takes fewer steps. - Smoother experience overall
Start.me should feel more stable and predictable. Widgets behave more consistently, and everyday actions like editing or moving items work more reliably. - Better handling of larger pages
Pages with many widgets now feel more responsive. Scrolling, editing, and organizing content is smoother, even on complex setups. - Cleaner interactions
We’ve improved how things respond when you interact with them. This includes clearer feedback, fewer confusing states, and more straightforward behavior when something goes wrong. - Small improvements throughout
We’ve made many small tweaks across the interface. Together, they make Start.me feel calmer, clearer, and easier to use.
Try saving a few links to your Inbox and organize them later.

I love the Inbox widget, but I’ve noticed that the bookmarks in the Inbox don’t show up in search results. Is there a way to include these bookmarks in the search?
Hi dirmel,
Thanks for reporting this. You’re right: bookmarks in the Inbox currently don’t seem to appear in search results the same way regular bookmarks do.
I’ve reported this to our developer as a bug, so we can investigate whether Inbox bookmarks should be included in search indexing.
Kind regards,
Stefan – Start.me Team
I am not sure if this is happening since this update, but I am now getting the cookie consent dialog every time I open a new tab, no matter how often I accept it. I use the newest Chrome version in normal non-incognito tabs. Hopefully this gets resolved. 🙂
Thanks for reporting this, Lukas. This is likely caused by a Chrome privacy setting that prevents the consent cookie from being saved, so Start.me keeps showing the dialog again. Third-party cookie blocking is a likely cause. Could you check your Chrome cookie settings and see whether third-party cookies are being blocked?
Thanks as always for your invaluable work and for all these improvements under the hood at Start.me that make your platform even more useful for all of our work.
Thanks so much, Luigi, that really means a lot! And thank you too for your contribution and support. Very much appreciated.
Thank you so much for the inbox widget. This is a feature I’ve been requesting for a long time.
You’re very welcome, Dirmel! Happy with the way we implemented this? And if you have any more requests or suggestions, do feel free to let us know asap!
