Introducing a more mobile-friendly start.me…
This week we made some changes to the way start.me works in your mobile browser. We made the design more mobile-friendly, and the user experience more in-line with the desktop version of start.me.
What has changed?
- We deprecated the separate mobile mode that we launched last year. We now have one consistent UX design for desktop and mobile.
- You can now expand or collapse your widgets. The widget state (expanded or collapsed) will be stored on your local (mobile) device.
- Use drag ‘n drop to re-arrange your widgets. The changes you make to the position of widgets on mobile will not affect their position on the desktop.
- We reduced the space of the header by integrating the search box behind a toggle.

Hi Brian, thanks for commenting. Could you elaborate? We’d love to see a screenshot, with more information about your account. Please send it to support@start.me, so we can investigate. Thanks in advance!
This is great. But it is a little bit tricky to do on smartphone… And some Browsers (e. g. Android Cliqz Broswer) does not do it…
Just noticed it. Wonderful change. Loved it!
Looks great! Excellent improvement!
