Improved Analytics, Add Bookmarks to Top, and More Updates

At Start.me, we roll out updates several times a week. Most of them are small fixes and improvements that make things run more smoothly.

This time, we’ve also focused on three areas: Improving our Analytics, which now includes tracking clicks. A much-requested new feature is the option to add new bookmarks to the top of a list by default. And finally, you can shuffle the images in the Image Gallery widget.

Improved Analytics with Bookmark Click Insights

For PRO users, Start.me Analytics has long shown how often public pages were viewed — a useful feature for individuals and team admins alike. Now, based on your feedback, we’ve taken it a step further with click tracking for bookmarks and pages.

You can now see how often a page or individual bookmark has been clicked, with advanced filters to explore the data in more detail. This helps you quickly identify which links on your (shared) start pages are being used and which ones aren’t.

Privacy-first
Note: unless you toggle the Analytics for a page on, we won’t track your clicks or views. This is where you have full control.

Add new bookmarks to the top of a list

You can now change the default position for new bookmarks in the Bookmarks widget. Instead of being added to the bottom of the list, they can now be added to the top.

Instructions:

1. Click the Me icon at the top right of your Start.me page.
2. Now, click Display settings.
3. Locate the option to Add new bookmarks to the top of a list and toggle it on. The toggle will turn blue.

Shuffle Images on start

The Image Gallery widget is a useful widget for anyone who wants to save and present images to their Start.me page. You can use it to keep track of relevant information or to be inspired by whatever you decide is inspirational or useful.

As of today, you can make sure that the Gallery feels fresh every time the page loads.

Instructions:

1. Go to an Image gallery widget on your page, and open the More menu (three dots).
2. Click Display options.
3. Now go to the bottom of the list, and click Shuffle images on start.
