We just made Importing bookmarks even better
Importing bookmarks from your browser is not difficult at all. You simply click the Add Content button, locate the Import Bookmarks button and your HTML-file, and see the magic happen. Still, we saw room for improvement. Our users did too. So we added some excellent new features upon request. This is what you need to know.
Added features for Importing bookmarks
The significant improvements are under the hood. We worked hard to improve the stability of this feature, so it’s more robust now.
We also increased the upper limit for importing bookmarks, so even power users will be able to migrate their data to start.me without a hitch.
Just make sure you export your bookmarks from your browser to an HTML-file. Chrome or Chromium users can read more in this article.
Another improvement is the brand new support for subfolders. Now you can select the subfolders you want to import, so you don’t have to delete unwanted bookmarks later on.
The selected bookmarks will appear on a new page, called ‘Imported bookmarks.’
Final remarks

Our new Import Bookmarks function will be available for all users.
We decided not to limit ourselves to the PRO users only since this feature has always been available for everyone.
As we continue to listen to our users, we hope to continue developing our Importing bookmarks feature. Soon, you can expect to see bookmarking from a webpage. We’re also working on improved integration and synchronization with browsers.
So, what do you think? What would you like us to work on next? Feel free to let us know in the comments below!

Didn’t you used to be able to add bookmarks from the web page you were on. There was a button on the toolbar to use.
Hi Cindy, thanks for reaching out! I think the button you’re referring to, is our Chrome (or Firefox) extension. You can find it in the Chrome Web Store or the Firefox Addon Store. Just install, click, and continue. Hope this helps!
The black 3 dot menu on each widget is jarring and hard to ignore. is there a way to change the color or remove it completely?
Hi Ben, thanks for giving us your feedback. Yes, we quietly introduced the three-dot button because the old downward-facing arrow interfered with the new Open all links in tabs button. We’re looking into changing the color a bit, to make it less jarring. We hope you’ll get used to it!
Thank You to everyone. It is a pleasure to use startme.
You’re very welcome, Michael! Thanks for letting us know!
