Start.me: Julie, thank you for joining us today. Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself and your background?

Julie: Absolutely! I’m an educator by trade. I spent the first ten years of my career in the classroom, primarily teaching high school and college. Eventually, I moved into administration and worked as a data analyst, helping schools with state testing systems. It’s been quite the journey!

Start.me: That’s impressive! As someone with experience in education and data, what drew you to Start.me?

Julie: What attracted me to Start.me was its potential to organize my professional as an educator and my personal life. As someone who identifies as being on the autism spectrum, with a mix of ADHD, I’ve always found managing multiple tasks and links challenging. Start.me gave me a way to structure everything—from professional resources to personal projects—all in one place.

A lifesaver

Start.me: How are you using Start.me specifically in your day-to-day tasks?

Julie: I use Start.me to organize everything, from banking and utility links to calendars. I’ve embedded calendars for my son’s school and synced various professional tasks. One of my favorite features is the ability to add numbered lists to my tasks, which helps me keep things organized. I live in spreadsheets, so having my tasks and links structured this way is a lifesaver.

Start.me: That’s fantastic! How do you find the calendar feature? Any feedback on how we can improve it?

Julie: I love the calendar, especially the Google integration. The only challenge I’ve had is syncing my different calendars—Google, Outlook, and iCloud—into one place. If Start.me could somehow merge all these seamlessly, it would really streamline things for me.

Start.me: It’s great to hear how you’re using the platform. What about the bookmarks? How does Start.me help with those?

Julie: The bookmark feature is crucial. I’m often working across different worlds—personal, professional, and even some gaming projects. I use Start.me to manage everything from educational resources to game development projects. It’s just an excellent way to have all my necessary links in one place without losing track of them.

Julie Pyles’ Start.me Page: BellexFire!

Start.me: It sounds like you’ve explored a lot of features! What’s one thing that surprised you about using Start.me?

Julie: Honestly, the depth of customization! I’ve been able to adapt Start.me to fit my unique way of thinking and organizing, which isn’t always the most linear. I’ve even copied some layouts from the Start.me public gallery to learn how others organize their pages, which has been inspiring.

Keeping track

Start.me: That’s wonderful to hear. You mentioned earlier that you work with nonprofits. Can you tell us more about that?

Julie: Yes! I manage around 70 nonprofits, and I’ve been exploring ways to use Start.me for those organizations. Google offers a grant for nonprofits, providing $10,000 in monthly ad credits, which I’m helping them utilize. Start.me has been a great tool for keeping track of all the different projects, links, and resources for each nonprofit.

Start.me: That’s amazing, Julie! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Start.me. Before we wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share?

Julie: I just want to say how much I appreciate the platform. It’s been a huge help in keeping my professional and personal life organized. I’m excited to continue exploring all that Start.me has to offer and to see how it can evolve to meet even more of my needs.

Start.me: We’re thrilled to hear that! Thanks again for your time today, Julie.
